Shiraishi An (白石 杏) is a second-year student at Kamiyama High School. She's part of the street music group Vivid BAD SQUAD.

"Bright, sincere, and open-minded, An is the poster girl of her family's cafe, WEEKEND GARAGE. While working to create an event that can surpass the legendary event "RAD WEEKEND" that her father and his teammates created, An was shocked to hear the truth of what happened to Nagi, the person she admires. However, after learning about Nagi's true feelings from her father, she stood back up and promises once again to surpass the legendary event."
Background
An is the daughter of Shiraishi Ken, a popular Vivid Street musician and member of the group RADder. She was born and raised in the Vivid Street area, regularly spending time with her father and his bandmates, Kotaki Nagi and Kotaki Taiga.
From a young age, Ken, Nagi, and Taiga taught An to sing and write music. She spent her days practicing on the street and charming the locals, becoming well-known in the area.
When An was in middle school, three years before Vivid BAD SQUAD's Main Story, RADder put on a legendary event known as RAD WEEKEND. She was in attendance, and afterward made it her goal to become a professional musician and surpass that night.
Following the event, Nagi went overseas without notice. Taiga travelled to America shortly after to pursue his music career. An's father retired from music, and opened a live cafe and bar, WEEKEND GARAGE, where she worked part-time. During this time, she met Shinonome Akito, and shortly after, Aoyagi Toya.
As a first year, An was classmates with Akiyama Mizuki in Class 1-A. As a second year, she is classmates with Akito and Kusanagi Nene. An is a former member of the disciplinary committee. She sometimes acts as an emergency sub for Kamiyama High School's basketball team, though she is not on the team itself.
Appearance
An has orange eyes and long black hair with blue tips, worn loose with two hairclips on her left, and small star clips around her hair.
Original
An's outfit consists of a black shirt tucked into her white shorts with neon green accents, two black straps on each side hooked to the front and back of her shorts, and a blue-green and white oversized jacket which has the word "HEADS" printed on its left sleeve and neon green accented strings. She also wears a pair of neon green headphones around her neck and white sneakers.
Brand New World
An has three outfits as of Brand New World.
Her unit outfit consists of a black and teal long-sleeved crop top with shoulder cutouts, paired with white pants with a red accent. She wears two silver necklaces, a belt with the word HEADS printed along its length, and black and teal sneakers.
Her casual outfit consists of a white cropped sweater with black and purple stripes over a black and lime green crop top. She wears distressed flared jeans.
Her school outfit is the standard female Kamiyama High School uniform with a tie, with a gray and black cardigan layered on top.
Personality
An is a cool and candid girl with an unyielding spirit. Her fiery determination helps motivate her to her goal of being better than RAD WEEKEND. As her father mentions, she's always been extremely confident, driven, and independent, and she never lets situations intimidate her, seizing every opportunity.
An shows a sweeter side to her friends and cares about them very much, getting along with people very easily. She has no trouble introducing herself and charming those around her, and as such, she has many connections and acquaintances around Shibuya who are fond of her.
As of Bout for Beside You, An begins wrestling with feelings of inferiority and jealousy over Kohane when the latter shows immense improvement in her singing. Despite her attempts to ignore and reconcile these feelings, she's afraid of being left behind by Kohane, both in skill and in life.
Relationships
- Azusawa Kohane: Fellow group member. Before joining VBS, they created their own group called Vivids. They're very close friends and An encouraged Kohane to change.
- Shinonome Akito: Fellow group member. They're rivals but work together in VBS to surpass RAD WEEKEND.
- Aoyagi Toya: Fellow group member. An wonders why he's always with Akito.
- Kiritani Haruka: Friends since middle school but separated in high school. They still hang out together outside of school.
- Akiyama Mizuki: Close friends and fellow classmates from 1-A. An invites them to the school carnival with the reassurance that they won't stand out too much with everyone in costume.
