Two weeks have passed since the events of Immiscible Discord. Mafuyu hasn't been able to show up on Nightcord and the other members are worried about her. Mizuki thinks back to what they, Kanade and Ena discussed in SEKAI after Kanade's meeting with Mafuyu's mom, during which they decided not to tell Mafuyu about the meeting yet, and instead brainstorm a different way to help Mafuyu. Mizuki concludes that none of them have been able to think of a solution, and requests for them to meet up in SEKAI.

Chapter 2[edit | edit source]

Mizuki, Kanade and Ena meet up with the virtual singers at SEKAI. They talk about what they've been doing to try and improve Mafuyu's situation, who still hasn't been able to work with them at night. Luka questions weather they've done all they could have, saying there's still an option they've all thought of already - revealing her mothers intentions to Mafuyu. Kanade acknowledges that Luka's right, but says she can't as it would be cruel. Luka says that even so, if it comes to it, they'll have to tell Mafuyu. Mizuki thinks to themselves that Luka is right, and frets that if they take too long Mafuyu will suffer further. After they leave SEKAI the group gets a Nightcord message from Mafuyu informing them she can't join today either. Mizuki reflects on how for them, their home was a place they could get away from it all, while Mafuyu has nowhere to escape to. Just then Mizuki gets an idea, and hurries to share it with Kanade and Ena.
